Kontihene make shocking revelation about Morris Baby Face.
Born Emmanuel Nana Appiah Boateng known by his stage name Kontihene is a Ghanaian hiplife musician, he won the Song of the Year Award during the 2003
edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards with his song ‘Aketesea’ from his debut album Nyankonton,
making him the first new artist at the time to have received this award.
Kontihene has publicly paid homage to music producer Morris Baby Face in a recent interview on YFM.
On “The Album Review” segment on #RYSENSHYNE hosted by NYDJ, Ohene Kontihene revealed his hit single “Asesa” makes more sense to him now than when he released it.
According to him, he didn’t know what he was putting out there. Talented producer Morris Baby Face is a genius “I appreciate him for his contribution to my (Kontihene’s) debut album (Nyankonton)”.
Speaking to NYDJ he revealed that those days to put together an album you need solid producers and all these solid producers were all found in Accra, although we had engineers in Kumasi but that was the demo level, that was the time of the boger highlife people were releasing songs from abroad” the Nana Tuffour’s Abeku songs and the like were all coming from outside the country.
If you don’t have access to travel you have to target somewhere in Accra to put together an album together.
“He made it simple for me. I was blessed to have that gentleman Morris Baby Face who was so instrumental…”
