The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that it will begin the registration of new members and the updating of its membership register from February 10 to March 30, 2026.
Speaking during a press conference at the NDC’s headquarters in Accra, on Thursday, January 29, the General Secretary of the NDC, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey described the exercise as a critical organisational activity ahead of the party’s future electoral engagements.
According to him, the registration exercise will run concurrently with an update of the party’s existing register and is aimed at expanding and strengthening the NDC’s grassroots base.
He explained that the exercise is expected to attract a wide range of prospective members, including young people who have recently attained voting age, first-time voters from the 2024 general elections who now wish to deepen their commitment to the party, as well as older citizens who have decided to formally identify with the NDC.
“This very important activity has to do with the registration of new members and the update of our register. The period scheduled for this is from the 10th of February through to the 30th of March,” Mr. Kwetey stated.
He noted that the registration process will be conducted at the branch level across the country, with branch executive committees bearing full responsibility for overseeing the exercise.
Mr. Kwetey stressed that the success of the registration drive depends largely on the commitment and diligence of branch executives, who are expected to ensure that all eligible and interested persons are duly registered within the stipulated period.
The NDC says the exercise forms part of broader efforts to consolidate the party’s structures and enhance internal organisation at the grassroots level.
